“There’s just something different about you. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but you’re different some how.”
That’s what a friend said to me recently. And I knew exactly what she meant. Because I purposely have changed for the better.
Two years ago, a friend started up a new business – a meditation practice where she brings meditation into business environments to help people relax. I joined one of her first groups, and have been a part of her practice ever since.
Its not that I learn new things at my weekly meetings. We repeat the same meditations over and over again. But in my two years of practice, I have noticed that by joining a group, I stay focused on what’s important. I feel the energy from the group, and I’ve learned it helps me take charge of what I do each week.
For me, meditation is all about fine-tuning who I already am. It’s about letting go of the negative and putting all of my energy on the positive. For me, my health and well-being are at the top of my daily to-do list. And meditation allows me to check in with how my inner self is truly doing. It gives me time to focus in on me. I relax. And I’m ready to step out and accomplish a whole lot more throughout my busy day.
And we all need that once in awhile.
Then a couple of months ago, I was invited to try out a new technique – tapping.
What I like about meditating in a group is the collective energy you feel. And that feeling also comes through when you tap.
Meditation allows me to relax and feel better from the inside out. Tapping gives me a unique perspective on what is happening in my life right now – what’s bothering or holding me back right now – and allows me to quickly change my perspective and look at things in a new way.
By doing both every day, I’ve increased my energy levels tenfold. Its given me a new outlook on what I want to accomplish each day, and helps me move forward in my goals and dreams without focusing in on the negatives that used to be a part of my life.
While I don’t see anything written about the two together, for me, making sure I give myself time for each every day, I’ve noticed the benefits of using the two together.
Both allow you to focus in on your own internal energy. It allows you to release old issues and release negative energy. It gives you a chance to enjoy every day in a much more positive way.
Do you use meditation and tapping?
